The Versatile Blogger Award

Hey there, fellow readers! I recently got nominated for the Versatile Blogger Award by Angelica @ The Book Cover Girls! I was also nominated by Meghan @ Meghan’s Whimsical Explorations and Reviews a while back! Thank you so much! It means a lot that you both nominated me for this award. 🙂 Now, without further ado, let’s get this started!

The Rules:

  • Display the award on your blog.
  • Thank the blogger that nominated you and provide a link to their blog.
  • Share 7 facts about yourself.
  • Nominate 10 bloggers for the award and provide links to their blog.

1.  When I was younger, I was a bit of a prankster. I’d prank phone calls, tie people together via their clothes; that sort of thing. Thankfully, I’ve gotten over that phase and just stick to mildly scaring people from time to time… 😀

2. I have this love and hate relationship with the rain. First off, I hate being stuck in the rain. I have no qualms about it when I’m inside my house, sipping a latte and watching the world go by. But once I’m outside and it starts pouring, I’m just put off by it. Probably has to do with the times it would rain in Somalia. Since it wouldn’t rain for long periods of time, when it actually does rain, it pours like nobody’s business. It’s probably also why I’m thankful for it, seeing as the land did need that downpour in order for the wildlife to survive.

3. I’ll never read the Lord of the Rings trilogy. I know this for a fact because I’ve tried several times to read it and could never get past the first few chapters. I know that lots of people love it, and I respect that, but it’ll probably never be my cup of tea and I’m okay with that.

4. I’ve always wanted to work at a bookstore. I guess this would come as no surprise to many of you, but it’s always been a dream of mine to have worked with books and the first job I thought of was working at Chapters Indigo. Even now, if I ever got the chance to work with them and see how the sales side of things go in the book industry, I’d still be interested. Maybe it’ll happen in the future…

5. I haven’t read a Fantasy YA novel in quite a while! I know I’ve been on a Contemporary streak lately, but I really want to delve into a world of magic again! If anyone has suggestions of a really good fantasy novel to read, please share them in the Comments Section below! I’ll read it ASAP!

6. I think I’m slowly on my way to becoming Team eBook… Or at least more than I was before. While I do love having a physical copy of the book at hand, I also love having a eReader with a bunch of books that I can choose to read if I’ve lost interest in one of them. Plus, if buying a new eReader is any indication, it probably means that I’m more dedicated to reading eBooks on a device dedicated to it rather than my tiny phone screen.

7. I don’t own a bookshelf. It’s true! I have a bunch of books but no shelf to put them in. I usually just leave them on the table or in a bin. I’d really like one though… Maybe that’ll be my next big purchase…

I nominate:

Lia @ Lost in a Story

Hermione and Clara @ Proud and Prejudiced Book Thieves

Steph @ Lost Purple Quill

Sydney @ Sydney’s Shelves

Laura @ Reading Sanctuary

Des @ Des’ Random Thoughts

Bentley @ Book Bastion

The Unique Blogger Award

Hey there, lovely readers! I’m back, this time with an award post! I’d like to thank Eliza @ DuskAngelReads for nominating me! Now, without further ado, I’m ready to answer some fun questions! 🙂

The Rules:

  • Share the link of the blogger who has shown love to you by nominating you.
  • Answer the questions.
  • In the spirit of sharing love and solidarity with our blogging family, nominate 8-13 people for the same award.
  • Ask them three questions.

Eliza’s questions:

1. What is your least favourite Book to Movie adaptation?

This is a tricky one since I’ve been avoiding book to movie adaptations for a while now… hmmm… probably The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones movie with Lily Collins and Jamie Campbell Bower…

2. Do you read one book at a time or more?

Most of the time, I stick to reading one book at a time. This is because I know I’m going to lose interest in one book or the other and end up not reading it anyways. Plus, it’s easier to focus on one book and finish it quicker than to spread the reading between two books (or more) and take longer…But I’ve always been a bit envious of people who could read a lot of books at the same time! 😉

3. Would you ever try and write a book? If so, what genre do you think you would try?

I don’t know if I have the patience to write a book (I barely have any patience when writing short stories), but if I did, it would probably be a Contemporary YA novel about best friends! 😀 Probably because I’d like to see more of those, instead of just romance in Contemporary YA (sometimes even excluding the romance altogether).

I nominate…

Krysti and Sarah @ YA and Wine

Jeyran @ Review Tales

lit this & that

notsomoderngirl

Angelica and Rosie @ The Book Cover Girls

Lia @ Lost in A Story

A.J. @ Lacy Literacy

Faith @ Geeky About Books

My Questions:

What book are you anticipating the most for this year?

What is your favourite trope (it can be from any form of media)?

In terms of POVs, do you prefer one or more?

If you’ve done this award before or aren’t interested in it, feel free to ignore it. Thanks for reading, everyone!

The Real Neat Blog Award

Hello, everyone! OMG! I’m finally doing an award again! 😛 It’s been such a long time since I’ve completed one of these… Kind of because there are so many nominations I don’t know  where to start. But I’ve recently been nominated for the Real Neat Blog Award by Shruti @ This is Lit and I thank her for that! I’ve also been nominated before by Jesalin @ Blogging Everything BeautifulDreaming Through Literature and Kayla from Booked Solid; thank you so much, even though I haven’t completed it till now. I wish I could answer all of the questions from these amazing bloggers, but since there are so many, I’m just going to answer the most recent nomination questions. If you haven’t already visited their sites, you should really check them out! 😀

The Rules:

1. Thank and link the blogger that nominated you.

2. Answer the 7 questions that the nomination has provided you.

3. Create 7 questions for your nominees.

4. Nominate 7 other bloggers.

Shruti’s questions:

1. List all your favorite books. Go ahead and go crazy. We want to know ’em all!

I can’t name all of them, but some of the books that I adore include the Harry Potter series (especially Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince), the Night World series, Inheritance by Christopher Paolini, The Naming by Alison Croon, Last Chance by Sarah Dessen, Princess Academy by Shannon Hale, The Selection by Kiera Cass, Maskerade by Terry Pratchett, Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell, and so much more! 😀

2. Which book character do you absolutely abhor?

You might have already heard about this from previous posts, but I absolutely detest Mare from Red Queen! I remember reading the book and questioning the point of her character in general…

3. Which book made you cry the most of all books you’ve ever read?

Falling for You by Lisa Schroeder. I remember crying on the subway when reading that book; that’s how far gone in the feels state I was…

4. Which children’s book would you not mind re-reading now? Why?

I guess Princess Academy by Shannon Hale, just because I have actually reread it several times…

5. Do you use bookmarks or do you remember page numbers?

It depends on if I have a bookmark available… 😉

6. Which character from a different book would you like to see in Hogwarts?

Hmmmmmm…. I guess I’d go with Cather from Fangirl. 😀 She’d probably really fangirl if she gets put into a world so much like Simon Snow’s! 😉

7. Do you like big books or do you prefer smaller ones?

I honestly prefer smaller ones, because they’re easier to finish. But it can’t be too small and leave out key areas for development or plotlines that need to be filled! 😉

My questions:

1. Have you ever fallen out of love with a genre? Which one?

2. Do you prefer chain or indie bookstores?

3. Would you prefer reading a book by an author you know and love but in a genre you hate or reading a genre you love but by a debut author?

4. Name a fictional land that you’d want to go to.

5. How do you schedule your blogging?

6. Name a non-canon book couple that you would love to see together.

7. Are you enjoying the book you’re reading at the moment?

I nominate:

Katie @ sherlockianbooklover

Caitlin and Cynthia @shelfiepodcast

Taylor @ Taylor Reads Books

Beth @ Hello Beautiful Book Blog

Zainab @ TeenBookLit101

Jasmine @ How Useful It Is

and YOU! 🙂

If you’ve already done this tag or don’t feel like it, just ignore it. 😉 Thanks for reading!
