The Real Neat Blog Award

Hello, everyone! OMG! I’m finally doing an award again! 😛 It’s been such a long time since I’ve completed one of these… Kind of because there are so many nominations I don’t know  where to start. But I’ve recently been nominated for the Real Neat Blog Award by Shruti @ This is Lit and I thank her for that! I’ve also been nominated before by Jesalin @ Blogging Everything BeautifulDreaming Through Literature and Kayla from Booked Solid; thank you so much, even though I haven’t completed it till now. I wish I could answer all of the questions from these amazing bloggers, but since there are so many, I’m just going to answer the most recent nomination questions. If you haven’t already visited their sites, you should really check them out! 😀

The Rules:

1. Thank and link the blogger that nominated you.

2. Answer the 7 questions that the nomination has provided you.

3. Create 7 questions for your nominees.

4. Nominate 7 other bloggers.

Shruti’s questions:

1. List all your favorite books. Go ahead and go crazy. We want to know ’em all!

I can’t name all of them, but some of the books that I adore include the Harry Potter series (especially Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince), the Night World series, Inheritance by Christopher Paolini, The Naming by Alison Croon, Last Chance by Sarah Dessen, Princess Academy by Shannon Hale, The Selection by Kiera Cass, Maskerade by Terry Pratchett, Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell, and so much more! 😀

2. Which book character do you absolutely abhor?

You might have already heard about this from previous posts, but I absolutely detest Mare from Red Queen! I remember reading the book and questioning the point of her character in general…

3. Which book made you cry the most of all books you’ve ever read?

Falling for You by Lisa Schroeder. I remember crying on the subway when reading that book; that’s how far gone in the feels state I was…

4. Which children’s book would you not mind re-reading now? Why?

I guess Princess Academy by Shannon Hale, just because I have actually reread it several times…

5. Do you use bookmarks or do you remember page numbers?

It depends on if I have a bookmark available… 😉

6. Which character from a different book would you like to see in Hogwarts?

Hmmmmmm…. I guess I’d go with Cather from Fangirl. 😀 She’d probably really fangirl if she gets put into a world so much like Simon Snow’s! 😉

7. Do you like big books or do you prefer smaller ones?

I honestly prefer smaller ones, because they’re easier to finish. But it can’t be too small and leave out key areas for development or plotlines that need to be filled! 😉

My questions:

1. Have you ever fallen out of love with a genre? Which one?

2. Do you prefer chain or indie bookstores?

3. Would you prefer reading a book by an author you know and love but in a genre you hate or reading a genre you love but by a debut author?

4. Name a fictional land that you’d want to go to.

5. How do you schedule your blogging?

6. Name a non-canon book couple that you would love to see together.

7. Are you enjoying the book you’re reading at the moment?

I nominate:

Katie @ sherlockianbooklover

Caitlin and Cynthia @shelfiepodcast

Taylor @ Taylor Reads Books

Beth @ Hello Beautiful Book Blog

Zainab @ TeenBookLit101

Jasmine @ How Useful It Is

and YOU! 🙂

If you’ve already done this tag or don’t feel like it, just ignore it. 😉 Thanks for reading!

The Sunshine Blogger Award

Hello, everyone! I’m back with another award: The Sunshine Blogger Award! I’d like to thank Amber @ onlytruemagic and Bree @ The Literary Hellion for nominating me! It means so much when not one, but two bloggers nominate you for the same award. It just makes my day! Their blogs are pretty amazing, so you should check them out, if you haven’t already! Since I have questions from both of these bloggers, I’ll answer them all below and post my eleven questions afterwards. The rules are:

  1. Answer the 11 questions from the blogger who nominated you
  2. Nominate some bloggers who put sunshine in your day
  3. Write 11 questions for them to answer

onlytruemagic’s questions:

1. What is your ultimate Throwback Thursday playlist? Do you use it to jam out or just have in the background? I actually don’t even have a playlist, let alone a Throwback Thursday playlist… 😐

2. Have you ever traveled outside of your home country? If so, where? If not, where’s your favorite local place to visit? Yup, I’ve travelled outside Canada. I’ve gone to London, Borama (Somalia) and Dubai. I honestly think that my favourite place to visit was Dubai’s gold market. And the hotel room of course. 😉

3. What genre do you tend to stray away from and why? I know I’ve said this over and over again, but I tend to stay away from dystopian books. Even though I do this, I still see elements of it in other novels, and it doesn’t ruin the book for me. I guess I just got tired of it.

4. What other hobbies do you take part in other than reading and blogging? I enjoy baking, even though I haven’t done a lot of that since school started. But I can’t wait to bake some snickerdoodles!

5. How long does it usually take you to read a novel? It depends on the length, my interest in it and the amount of  time I’m available. Usually, the maximum amount of time it takes would be around a week.

6. Who do you think would have the most interesting memoir? Why? Oh, this is a hard question! 🙂 Especially since I don’t read memoirs that much. So far, I’ve read Model: a memoir by Cheryl Diamond and a little of Mindy Kaling’s first memoir Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me (And Other Concerns). They’re both pretty funny and interesting, so I can’t really decide who have the most interesting memoir. Maybe Mindy Kaling…

7. If you were to be transported into the world of any Disney movie, which one would it be? It would be post fifties for sure… Probably an Original Disney movie like Stepsister from Planet Weird, because I loved it as a kid! 😉

8. Other than WordPress, which social media outlet could you not live without? Twitter, because that’s where I get all my news from.

9. Are you more of a beach or country person? Why? I’m more of a beach person, because I’ve been threatened with living in the country so many times, it’s lost its appeal. 😀

10. Is there a party game that you like to pull out when gathered with friends? What is it and why? Nowadays, we don’t really play games when at a party (sounds boring). We mostly talk about stuff, like what we’re doing, what we’ve heard and what’s going on at that moment.

11. What is your favorite book to movie adaptation? Is it really worth watching? The Harry Potter movies and it’s obviously worth watching. It’s probably one of the only book to movie adaptations I support, with the rest being so off that it turns into something cringeworthy (Vampire Academy).

The Literary Hellion’s questions:

1. Gloves or mittens? If it’s really cold, I’d go with mittens.

2. Say the Earth was destroyed but all other planets in our solar system were habitable. Which planet would you live on and why? I guess Mars, but only for the practical reason that it’s closer and people have been working with it already.

3. What are your biggest pet peeves? Other than spoilers, I can’t think of anything at the moment…

4. Fantasy or sci-fi? Fantasy all the way! 😉

5. Do you play any instruments? If so, which? I don’t play an instrument. Just had to play the recorder in fifth grade.

6. Of all the mythical creatures out there, which do you wish most was real? Probably a phoenix, since they seem interesting and yet harmless (not like a Jabberwocky)…

7. What is your favorite television show (past or present)? I always loved Arthur as a kid, and even later. It never got really old, at least to me.

8. About how many books would you say you have on your physical bookshelf? At the moment, I have 23 books on my shelf/window sill. The rest are all on my Kobo.

9. In a fight between Wolverine, Mystique, and Quicksilver, who would win? Why? Sorry, but I have no clue who’d win because I don’t really read X-men comics…

10. Are you a cat or a dog person? I’m more of a cat person than a dog person.

11. Say you stumbled into a time machine that took you back to ancient Greece. You have no idea how to work the time machine, so— surprise!— you’re stuck there forever. What do you do? I would try to get out ancient Greece and hope there are Amazons or an equivalent group out there! 😛 🙂

And my nominees are:

Anyone who wants to answer these questions! 😉

My questions:

  1.  What is your favourite place to go to?
  2.  Are you also interested in graphic novels, manga, comics, etc.? If so, then from what genre and name your favourite.
  3. You’re on the last chapter of the page, but someone calls you over to do something. What do you do?
  4. The ultimate decision: Pizza or ice cream? 😛
  5. What’s that one book on your TBR that you’re really eager to read?
  6. Name the last book recommended to you.
  7. Where’s the weirdest place you’ve ever read a book?
  8. Do you get into the spirit of October by reading scary/Halloween themed stories? If so, then which ones?
  9. What do you like most about having a blog?
  10. Excited for any book releases coming up? Which ones?
  11. Is there anyone in world that you’d like to meet and who would they be?

That’s all for now! Thanks for reading this post, everyone! Until next time…

The Siblinghood of the World Bloggers Award

Hello, there! I know I’ve done the Sisterhood of the World Bloggers award before, but I thought that since this one was a bit different, I might as well go for it! Thank you Rachel @ Bookish Rachel for nominating me! If you haven’t checked her blog out, you should do so, because it’s really great! Here are the rules:

  1. Thank the blogger who nominated you and link to their blog in your post.
  2. Answer the questions that the blogger who nominated you has provided.
  3. Nominate ten other bloggers (or up to 10).
  4. Create ten questions for your nominees and notify them of their nominations.

And these are the questions and answers! 😀

1. How old were you when you discovered a love for reading? I was in grade six, so about eleven years old.

2. Do you watch BookTube? If so, what is your favorite channel? I don’t really watch BookTube; I sometimes go on the EpicReads youtube channel, but other than that, I prefer reading posts on blogs.

3. Book to movie adaptations: yay or nay? Mostly nay, with the exception of the Harry Potter films. 😉

4. Are you a book hoarder? OMG, yes! I have so many books that I have trouble reading them all. I’m officially going to try and stop this!

5. What is your favorite and least favorite genre to read? My favourite genre is fantasy and my least favourite is dystopian.

6. Do you have any reading habits? Sometimes I like to drink a latte or eat Sour Patch kids while reading. I can’t really think of anything else

7. Favorite book relationship (romantic or non-romantic)? Warner and Juliette from Shatter Me! 😀

8. . What is (or was) your most anticipated book for 2015? Queen of Shadows… still is… :/

9. . Why did you begin blogging? I began blogging about 2 months and a half ago. I did it to connect with others in the booklover community as well as write about books I love!

10. Favorite cover trend? First thing I thought was “What’s a cover trend?”Then I looked it up and realized I have no favourite cover trend. Sometimes, what works for one cover doesn’t work for another. A whole bunch of factors add up to make the cover something worth fawning over! ❤ ❤ ❤
