Down the TBR Hole

Down the TBR Hole 17

Hey there, fellow readers! It’s time to go through my TBR pile again, with another pst of Down the TBR Hole hosted by Lia @ Lost in a Story. This meme is dedicated to uncluttering your TBR pile, going through each book and choosing which one should stay or go. So, I’ll just get right to it and introduce this week’s choices:

1. Brave New Girl by Rachel Vincent

brave new girl.jpg

If I saw this book in 2013, I might have read it. But based on the dystopian premise, I’m probably not going to get into it…

The verdict: Go

2. Short Stories from Hogwarts of Heroism, Hardship and Dangerous Hobbies by J.K. Rowling

hogwarts short stories.jpg

Most definitely will read this! Hands down!

The verdict: Keep

3. The Boy Most Likely To by Huntley Fitzpatrick

the boy most likely to.jpg

While I did like reading My Life Next Door, I don’t know if I can return to that world after all this time. So in this case, I’m going to let the book go.

The verdict: Go

4. How to Find Love in a Bookshop by Veronica Henry

how to find love in a bookshop.jpg

Of course I would like to read this book! It sounds so sweet! 🙂

The verdict: Keep

5. Spindle Fire by Lexa Hillyer

spindle fire.jpg

At the moment, I’m not really into fairy tale retellings… Maybe I’ve just read too many of them? Anyways, I don’t think I’m going to read this book anytime soon.

The verdict: Go

Well, that’s all for now! If you have any thoughts or questions about this week’s post, feel free to leave a comment in the section below. Thanks for reading, everyone!

Down the TBR Hole 16

Hi, everyone! It’s been a while, but I’m back with another post of “Down the TBR Hole”, hosted by Lia @ Lost in a Story! This meme is dedicated to uncluttering your TBR pile, going through each book and choosing which one should stay or go. Now, let’s see which books will stay and which will go!

1.  Beheld by Alex Flinn

beheld.jpg

I hate to say it, but in this case, I have to let this book go. I think I’ve lost interest in the series in general, and even though I really liked the earlier books, the more recent ones haven’t captured my interest.

The verdict: Go

2. The Queen of Bright and Shiny Things by Ann Aguire

the queen of bright and shiny things.jpg

This book has been on my TBR pile way too long to the point where I don’t think I’ll be reading it at all…

The verdict: Go

3. The Wish Granter by C.J. Redwine

the wish granter

Just reread the blurb, and I’ve got to say, it has me intrigued again!

The verdict: Keep

4. The Sound of Us by Ashley Poston

the sound of us.jpg

Due to my love of books about showbiz, I can’t simply let this one go! It stays! 😀

The verdict: Keep

5. Trixter by Alethea Kontis

trixter.jpg

I actually haven’t read any of the author’s books since the one in Saturday’s POV, Hero. So until then, I’m going to give this book a pass…

The verdict: Go

Well, that’s all for now! Are any of these books in your TBR pile? If so, do you think you’ll make time to read them? And if you’ve already read these books, feel free to share your thoughts on them as well in the section below!

Have a nice day!

Down the TBR Hole 15

Hi, everyone! I’m back with another post of “Down the TBR Hole”, hosted by Lia @ Lost in a Story! This meme is dedicated to uncluttering your TBR pile, going through each book and choosing which one should stay or go. So, without further ado, here are this week’s set of books:

1.  I Am Not Your Perfect Mexican Daughter by Erika L. Sánchez

i am not your perfect mexican daughter.jpg

I definitely still want to read this one! Now if only I could find the time…

The verdict: Keep

2. The Hundred Lies of Lizzie Lovett by Chelsea Sedoti

the hundred lies of lizzie lovett.jpg

I remember adding this book to my TBR pile after I had finished As You Wish. I loved the writing style so much that I wanted to go back and read anything else Chelsea Sedoti has written. But now that I’ve gone back to it, the book sounds too much like a thriller and I’m planning on staying away from those for a while.

The verdict: Go

3. Prep School Confidential by Kara Taylor

prep school confidential.jpg

I’m going to let this one go as well, because it also falls in a thriller-like category…

The verdict: Go

4. Deacon Locke Went to Prom by Brian Katcher

deacon locke went to prom.jpg

Well, I can never say no to a book about prom, so I guess this one’s stuck on my TBR pile until I finally get the chance to read it! 😉

The verdict: Keep

5. Once and For All by Sarah Dessen

once and for all.jpg

I actually did try to read this a while ago, but just couldn’t get into it. I found it still a part of my TBR pile on Goodreads, though, so out it goes!

The verdict: Go

Well, that’s all for now! I’m glad I’ve gotten back into the habit of managing my TBR pile, especially since I’ve been adding to it with all the new books that have been catching my eye! How about you? Are there any books on your TBR pile that you’ve been meaning to get rid of? Let me know in the Comments Section below!

Have a nice day, everyone!

Down the TBR Hole 14

Hello again! It’s time for another round of Down the TBR Hole, which is hosted by Lia @ Lost in a Story! This meme is dedicated to uncluttering your TBR pile, going through each book and choosing which one should stay or go. Here are the books I’m considering this week:

1. The Dark Days Club by Alison Goodman

dark-days-club

Since I haven’t read historical fiction in a long time, I’m just going to give this one a pass…

The verdict: Go

2. Unscripted Joss Byrd by Lygia Day Peñaflor

unscripted

I love books about the entertainment industry, so I’m definitely keeping this one! 😉

The verdict: Keep

3. Flamecaster by Cinda Williams Chima

flamecaster.jpg

I first added this book after finishing The Demon King, along with a whole bunch of other books by the same author. But since I haven’t read any of the other books in the Seven Realms series, I’m just going to remove it from my TBR pile for now.

The verdict: Go

4. Kindred Spirits by Rainbow Rowell

kindred spirits.jpg

I really want to read this novella! I just keep on forgetting about it! But how could I forget about this book? It’s by Rainbow Rowell!

The verdict: Keep

5. Air Awakens by Elise Kova

air awakens.jpg

I actually bought the book and tried to read it; I just couldn’t get into it… I thought I might return to it before, but I don’t think I will…

The verdict: Go

Well, that’s all for this week’s post! Are any of these books a part of your TBR pile? And if so, are you excited to read them or are you thinking about getting rid of them as well? Let me know in the Comments Section below!

Take care, everyone! And keep reading!

Down the TBR Hole 13

Hi, everybody! It’s been a while since my last “Down the TBR Hole” post, but I thought I’d get back into it to help sort through the books in my TBR pile. Hosted by Lia @ Lost in a Story, this meme is dedicated to uncluttering your TBR pile, going through each book and choosing which one should stay or go. So without further do, here are the books featured this week:

1.  #Nerd by Cambria Herbert

nerd

If it wasn’t for the fact that I had recently bought this book on Amazon Kindle (it was $1.99), I probably wouldn’t keep it in my TBR pile. But since I did, I will have to make an effort to read it some time soon! Who knows? Maybe I’ll end up liking it if it’s anything like Perfect Chemistry! 😉

The verdict: Keep

2. A Week of Mondays by Jessica Brody

a week of mondays.jpg

Ever since I read In Some Other Life, I really want to read all books by Jessica Brody, so I’m definitely keeping this. Now, if only I can find time to read it…

The verdict: Keep

3. Firstlife by Gena Showalter

firstlife.jpg

I don’t think I’ll be reading this since the only reason this book was on my TBR pile was because of Gena Showalter. I really loved the White Rabbit Chronicles series, but I don’t think my love will transfer to this book’s premise…

The verdict: Go

4. The Geek Girl’s Guide to Cheerleading by Charity Tahmaseb

the geek girl's guide.jpg

I added this book to my TBR list a really long time ago, and I don’t think I’m even a little bit invested in reading it anymore…

The verdict: Go

5. Reign of Shadows by Sophie Jordan

reign of shadows.jpg

I honestly added this to my TBR pile mostly because of the gorgeous cover and somewhat because of the plot. But when I look at it, it doesn’t provoke any desire to read it, so I’m just going to toss it.

The verdict: Go

Well, that’s a wrap for this week’s Down the TBR Pile! Were there any books here that you’ve come across? If so, did you find them interesting, once upon a time, as well? If you have any thoughts about this week’s Down the TBR Hole, I’d love to hear about them in the Comments Section below.

Take care, everyone!

Down the TBR Hole 12

Hey there, lovely readers! I hope you’ve all had a restful weekend! Other than relaxing with a good book, Sundays for me means another round of Down the TBR Hole, hosted by Lia @ Lost in a Story. This meme is dedicated to uncluttering your TBR pile, going through each book and choosing which one should stay or go. Week after week, I feel as if I’m running out books to feature in this post, but then I go on Goodreads and that proves me wrong! 😀 Even though I’ve made progress, I still have a long ways to go before my TBR pile can be deemed somewhat manageable! 😉 Well, here are the books for this week’s post:

1.  Ms. Marvel: No Normal by G. Willow Wilson

ms. marvel.jpg

I hope I get to read this one in the future! Every time I get a chance to read it, there’s always another book to read until I remember it has to be returned to the library again… But I’ll still keep it on my TBR pile just in case!

The verdict: Keep

2. The Winner’s Curse by Marie Rutkoski

winners-curse.jpg

I actually bought this book a while ago but have never compelled to read it after that initial buy. So I’m just going to take it off my TBR pile until I’m convinced otherwise…

The verdict: Go

3. Defy by Sara B. Larson

defy.jpg

I don’t know why, since I hardly remember the book, but this reminds me of Graceling… Maybe it’s just the cover! 😀 Anyways, I’m probably not going to pick up this book anytime soon, due to that similarity I feel with Graceling plus the fact that I’m not in the mood for love triangles.

The verdict: Go

4. Paper or Plastic by Vivi Barnes

paper-or-plastic.jpg

While I found the premise pretty interesting, I actually tried to read this book but found I didn’t like it. To be honest, I forgot this was still on my TBR pile and if I had remembered before, I would have taken it off a long time ago. 😉

The verdict: Go

5. Kissing Ted Callahan (and Other Guys) by Amy Spalding

kissing-ted-callahan.jpg

I know that this isn’t the best reason in the world, but I really want to read it because I loved Amy Spalding’s other book, The Reese Malcolm List! I know, I know; I’ve been disappointed by books that have been written by authors I love before. But I still want to read this one! 😀

The verdict: Keep

Have you read any of these books featured in this week’s Down the TBR Hole? And do you agree or disagree with my choices? Let me know in the Comments Section below! Have a nice day, everyone! 😉

Down the TBR Hole 11

Hi, everybody! It’s been a while since my last “Down the TBR Hole” post, but I’m finally back with a new one! Hosted by Lia @ Lost in a Story, this meme is dedicated to uncluttering your TBR pile, going through each book and choosing which one should stay or go. Here the titles up for this week’s post:

1.  Sunshine by Robin McKinley

sunshine.jpg

I don’t even remember putting this book on my TBR pile, which probably says something about my interest in the book. 😉 I think I put it there because of the author… Anyways, I’m definitely taking this book off my TBR pile!

The verdict: Go

2. Walk the Edge by Katie McGarry

walk-the-edge.jpg

I remember being so excited for the first book of this series, but then I read it and didn’t like it as much as I thought I would. That’s why I’m not going to be picking up this book anytime soon…

The verdict: Go

3. Breathe, Annie, Breathe by Miranda Kenneally

breathe-annie.jpg

As a whole, I really like what I’ve read from the Hundred Oaks series by Miranda Kenneally and want to read more of it! 😉

The verdict: Keep

4. Ruined by Amy Tintera

ruined.jpg

I know it’s been a while since my cousin recommended me this book, but I still want to read it! It just sounds so good! 😉

The verdict: Keep

5. Truthwitch by Susan Dennard

truthwitch.jpg

Even though I did read a bit of the book before putting it down, I think I’ll come back to it in the future. There was just something about the characters that makes me want to read more…

The verdict: Keep

That’s it for now! While I did keep more books this week, I still like the progress I’m making in terms of my TBR pile. If you have any thoughts on the books featured in this week’s Down the TBR Hole, feel free to share them in the Comments Section below. Thanks for reading, everyone!

Down the TBR Hole 10

Hey there, everybody! I’m back with another post of Down the TBR Hole, hosted by Lia @ Lost in a Story. This meme is dedicated to uncluttering your TBR pile, going through each book and choosing which one should stay or go. I can’t believe this is the tenth time I’m going through my TBR pile! It seems so weird every time I continue posting these with a new number, like I’m actually making progress on decluttering my TBR pile! Now, let’s get to this week’s titles! 🙂

The books:

1.  The Swan Riders by Erin Bow

the-swan-riders.jpg

I’m definitely not going to read this book anytime soon, mainly because I didn’t like how the last book ended, and I don’t think it’s going to get any better for me in The Swan Riders

The verdict: Go

2. A Thousand Pieces of You by Claudia Gray

a-thousand-pieces.jpg

Even though I didn’t like how the Evernight series ended , every time I read the blurb for A Thousand Pieces of You, I get really excited for it! Plus, look at that cover! Not that it’s a good reason to keep a book on your TBR pile, but look at it! 😉

The verdict: Keep

3. Prudence by Gail Carriger

prudence.jpg

I tried to read this a while back and decided to come back to it later. I don’t think I will though, mainly because I thought that the prequel series ended pretty well and I didn’t really any reason to continue.

The verdict: Go

4. My Not So Super Sweet Life by Rachel Harris

my-not-so-super-sweet-life.jpg

While I did enjoy the first book in the series a lot, it’s been so long that I wouldn’t be able to describe what exactly happened that made me like it. That being said, I don’t think I’ll pick up this book (or the book between the first and this one) anytime soon.

The verdict: Go

5. The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater

raven-boys.jpg

I’ve had plenty of opportunities to read this book and haven’t, so I think I’ll just get rid of it from my TBR pile for now. Maybe in the future, I’ll have a change of heart, but for now, I don’t have the urge to read it immediately.

The verdict: Go

Well, that’s all for this week’s posting of Down the TBR Hole. In the end, I only got to keep one book out of the five, but who knows? Maybe I’ll still read them some day! Emphasis on the maybe! 😀 If you have any thoughts or questions on this week’s post, feel free to share them in the Comments Section below! Have a nice day, everyone!

Down the TBR Hole 9

Hey there, fellow readers! It’s time to go through my TBR pile again, with another pst of Down the TBR Hole hosted by Lia @ Lost in a Story. This meme is dedicated to uncluttering your TBR pile, going through each book and choosing which one should stay or go. Making this post is always so much fun for me and today is no exception! So, I’ll just get right to it and introduce this week’s choices:

1.  Never Always Sometimes by Adi Alsaid

never-always-sometimes.jpg

I’m pretty sure that at this point, I’m not going to read this book. When I first heard about it, it seemed kind of interesting, but now, it seems kind of cliché to me…

The verdict: Go

2. This Shattered World by Amie Kaufman

this-shattered-world.jpg

I think I’ll pass on this one as well, especially since I haven’t read the first novel. I know that This Shattered World is a companion novel, but I always like reading the first in a series, companion or not…

The verdict: Go

3. Every Last Word by Tamara Ireland Stone

every-last-word.jpg

I’m definitely reading this one sometimes soon! Just forgot that it was even on my TBR pile!

The verdict: Keep

4. Royal Wedding Disaster by Meg Cabot

royal-wedding-disaster.jpg

Upon further consideration, I’m going to keep this book on my TBR pile. I honestly thought for a moment that I should take it off, but then I realized there was a third one in the works and got really excited for that, so yeah, I’m probably going to read this book! 😉

The verdict: Keep

5. Summer Days and Summer Nights: Twelve Love Stories edited by Stephanie Perkins

summer-days.jpg

At first, I was really excited for this anthology since a lot of the authors were ones I’d admired. But I actually haven’t gotten around to it because I’m not a big fan of anthologies and I don’t think I’ll get around to it anytime soon…

The verdict: Go

Well, that’s all for now! If you have any thoughts or questions about this week’s post, feel free to leave a comment in the section below. Thanks for reading, everyone!
