Which Cover Wednesday 25

Hello, everybody! It’s time for another Which Cover Wednesday! Which Cover Wednesday is a meme I host where I compare two different covers of the same book and suggest which one is more appropriate for the book. And you can participate, too, by giving your opinion on which cover you think is better in the Comments Section below. Well.. let the games begin! 🙂

1. Marked (House of Night #1) by P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast

30183 or 16673556.jpg

I think I’m in love with the second cover! It’s just that the first cover looks a bit plain in comparison, with its background and bored looking model in the corner of the cover. The second cover, on the other hand, looks more vibrant and mysterious in that the model is shrouded by the colour… 😉

2. Blue Bloods (Blue Bloods #1) by Melissa de la Cruz (English and Indonesian)

872333.jpg or 11079828.jpg

Second cover again! It won me over with that background! 🙂 The second one just looks so much more glitzier compared to the first, which seems relevant when talking about rich vampires…

3. Night World No. 1 by L.J. Smith

3099787 or 6416052

In this case, I’d go the second cover! While the first one shows readers a passive model, the second one has the model appearing active (in the process of sucking blood) while staring directly at the audience. It’s kind of chilling! 😉

4. Hearts at Stake/My Love Lies Bleeding (The Drake Chronicles #1) by Alyxandra Harvey

6708137 or 6707693

Second cover for the win! 😀 It’s not that the first cover isn’t great. The second one just seems more thought out and organized with its word placement and cover art. Plus, I love how the model appears to be formed from the background itself, which in my opinion is really a creative design! 😉

Well, those are our covers for this week’s Which Cover Wednesday! Which ones did you like? I’d love to hear about it in the Comments Section below! Also, any questions or suggestions about next week’s Which Cover Wednesday are welcome as well! That’s all for today. Thanks for reading!

Which Cover Wednesday 23

Hello, my fellow bloggers and readers! It’s Which Cover Wednesday again! Hooray! 😀 Which Cover Wednesday is a meme I host where I compare two different covers of the same book and suggest which one is more appropriate for the book. And I invite you all to participate and comment below to choose your favourite cover. Here are this week’s selection:

1. Prada and Prejudice by Mandy Hubbard (English and French)

5301920 or 9766966

Well, in this case, I’d go with the first cover. Not that the second cover is bad, but the first cover links the art with the story. The second cover could be used for a multitude of stories.

2. Timeless by Alexandra Monir (English and Polish)

8100422 or 19204793

First cover again! This cover is simply beautiful! The background is nicely done with its fog and colour scheme, shrouding the model and making her look mysterious. Also, not to take the title literally, but the first model looks more “timeless” than the second cover’s model (in terms of fashion).

3. Twilight (Mediator #6) by Meg Cabot

93724.jpg or 1197449

Well, I kind of feel bad for choosing the first cover again, but then I wouldn’t be true to my opinion, would I? So…first cover all the way! 😀 In its vagueness, the first cover leaves us to imagine what the characters would look like, rather than giving us features that we have to contend with, in our minds.

4. Haunting Violet by Alyxandra Harvey

8685644.jpg or 9802707.jpg

This one’s a bit more harder, since these covers are both great within their own right. The first cover makes the model appear to be troubled, while floating, tying into the ghost haunting motif. While the second one is appropriate with its fog and  bare trees, it reminds me of the cover of Fallen by Lauren Kate (especially with the model in that position on the cover, surrounded by trees). So, for originality (as well as a beautiful and ethereal cover) , the award goes to… the first cover! 🙂

Well, this week’s Which Cover Wednesday has come to a close. Were there any covers you liked (or disliked)? If you have any comments or questions about this week’s Which Cover Wednesday, please leave them in the Comments Section below. Thanks for reading, everyone!

Autumn Book Tag

Hello, everyone! Another day, another book tag. This time it’s the Autumn Book Tag, because it seemed like the proper send off for fall 😉 ! Thank you Deanna @ A Novel Glimpse and Calliope @ Calliope the book goddess for tagging me. You should check out their blogs, if you haven’t already; their posts do not disappoint!

Here are my answers:

What is your favorite thing about autumn?

Three words: Pumpkin Spice Latte! 😀 ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤

What book reminds you of your school days?

233722 66929

I’m still in school, but the book that gets me reminiscing about the good old days of grade school is any book from The Babysitters Club, as well as the Alice series! 😉 I literally grew up with them!

What cover reminds you of autumn?

Red by Alyxandra Harvey

With all those trees and leaves falling! 🙂

What is your favorite horror or Halloween story?

Anything from the Goosebumps series

I tend to stay away from horror, because of the consequences later on (lack of sleep, perpetual fear, the little stuff. 😛 ) But if I had to choose, it would be something from the Goosebumps series. It didn’t totally overwhelm me with horror and was bearable to read because of that.

What is your favorite horror or Halloween film?

Especially the first one!

What fall book release are you looking forward to?

Soundless by Richelle Mead

This already came out (last week), but I’m still looking forward to reading it! 😉

What autumn movie release are you most anticipating?

None at the moment.

What are three books you plan to read this autumn?

The Wrath and the Dawn by Renee Ahdieh (currently reading), Ash and Bramble by Sarah Prineas, and Crystal Kingdom by Amanda Hocking
