Hey there, fellow readers! It’s Monday, and you know what that means: time for another post of “It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?”, hosted by Kathryn @ Book Date. While I didn’t read the books on my list last week, I did finally finish 101 Things I Learned in Advertising School. Plus, I got to read Mirage by Somaiya Daud (but I won’t be reviewing it till later)!

I am definitely a Dark Tower fan. I haven’t read enough Stephen King books to know if I’m a fan of the author overall yet. However, I am beginning to read more of his work to get a better idea! I really liked The Talisman. How about you?

That’s cool! Good for you! I’m not really a Stephen King fan, but I did get to read The Dark Tower for class! 🙂

I’m currently In Sight of Stars and it’s eclectic in a way I haven’t read before. I’m loving it in its weird lyrical way.

That’s cool! Is it a narrative poem kind of novel?

Not really it’s just a unique minimalist style that I am really liking. It’s lyrical, but still structured like a normal novel.

Have you read To All the Boys I’ve Love Before before? Are you excited for the Netflix movie adaptation? How are you liking the other books?

Oooooh! What does a readalong entail, if you don’t mind my asking? And I can’t wait till the movie comes out!

I don’t mind you asking at all! Basically, the way that I do it is…I think of a book that I want to do a readalong for, then I run some polls on my Twitter account to gauge interest, and how long potential participants would like the readalong to run for. Since the purpose of this particular readalong was to read the book before the movie, I made a schedule based on when the movie comes out. So, I section the book off into 3s, since the readalong is 3 weeks. So every Wednesday for 3 weeks, I post up a discussion post (like this http://flaviathebibliophile.com/to-all-the-boys-ive-loved-before-readalong-discussion-1/) with discussion questions that participants can answer if they WANT to…and we basically discuss the designated portion of the book. There’s more info about this readalong here http://flaviathebibliophile.com/to-all-the-boys-ive-loved-before-readalong/ but let me know if you have any questions! 🙂
