Hey, everyone! I’m glad to say that I really liked Nicola Yoon’s sophomore novel, The Sun is Also a Star! It’s about Natasha and Daniel, two virtual strangers who meet at a time they really needed it and change both their lives after that moment. Sounds simple, but it was amazing! I fell in love with this book from page one! When I heard about The Sun is Also a Star, I couldn’t wait to read it. For months, anticipation has been building for me, and this book isn’t even a part of a series. It just has to do with how much I liked the writing style of Everything, Everything!

As I said, I really thought that this was great for a sophomore novel. When an author writes a great debut novel, I feel like there is a certain pressure to write a novel just as great, and Nicola Yoon has successfully done this. I’m usually not a fan of books that have a short time covered within the book, but I went with it in this book -it was focused on the events of one day- because the writing was just amazing! By focusing on that day, it became important to our minds, as well as to the characters within the story, Daniel and Natasha especially. My only problem with it is that the epilogue did the opposite, trying to speed things up rather than slow them down. It was kind of jarring. Maybe if a single moment was focused on, rather than rushing through their whole lives so that we would know everything that happened to them… But that’s just my opinion! πŸ˜‰

Can I just say, I love how our two lovebirds complimented each other! I know the opposites attract theory has been put into practice countless times, but it works, so why not? There’s just something about two people coming together, in spite (or because) of their differences. It’s just so much more interesting than seeing a Jane-and-Bingley-like couple, two people who are more or less the same. Overall, I fell in love with this pairing! If you’ve read some of my other reviews, you might know that I’m not crazy about romance, but that usually when there’s a whole other plot going on that’s being sidetracked because of a developing romance that doesn’t capture my interest. But this couple? O.T.P. πŸ˜€

That’s all I have to say about The Sun is Also a Star by Nicola Yoon! If you liked Everything, Everything, then you should really, really read this book! If you have any thoughts or questions, feel free to leave them in the Comments Section below. Thanks for reading!
