Welcome back to another Which Cover Wednesday! This is a weekly meme I host, where I take the two covers of the same book, compare and give my opinion on which one is a better fit! Feel free to join in the fun by commenting below! Now let’s see our contenders:
1. The Summoning by Kelley Armstrong
For this book, it’s easy to choose the first cover. Even though I can see the appeal to having Lyle House on the front cover (because that’s where everything starts), I like the first one because it looks more like a YA novel and less like a horror one.
2. The Expressologist by Kristina Springer (English and Indonesian)
In this case, I actually like the second one better! It’s more specific to the story than the cover with the girl merely sipping a latte.
3. The Program by Suzanne Young (English and Italian)
While I love the second cover’s model, I would have to choose the first cover of The Program. It’s just that the second version is a bit too generic for me. It’s not to say I’m 100% on board with the first cove, because I’m not. The models in the cover are holding hands like they are going through it together and I guess they are figuratively, but not literally. Maybe if it showed them reaching out to each other, I’d like the cover even more! 😉
4. Saving Francesca by Melina Marchetta
First cover all the way! The second one is a cartoonish version, and while I generally do not prefer cartoon covers over real person models, that’s not the only reason I like the other cover better. There’s also the fact that the second cover shows the protagonist with a group of men, which makes it seem like that’s her biggest problem, and it isn’t. It’s one of the many.
5. Withering Tights by Louise Rennison
These covers are so similar that’s hard to choose. But I’ve got say, I like the first cover more because of the cover art, with the cute background being sock material matching the title! 😀
That’s it for the covers! See any that you like (or dislike)? I’d love to hear your take on these covers. Thanks for reading!

I have The Summoning (though I haven’t read it) and I absolutely love the first cover. There’s just something I love about the colors and the crystal. The other cover is nice, too, though. The second one kind of reminds me of a nineties YA horror novel cover.

I know right? As for reading it, I hope you do so in the future and like it! It’s a really good series; way better than the second one! 😉

Thank you! I did end up reading that second one already… whoops… but I did like it, so I’m looking forward to this one! 😀

Yes! I do! I don’t remember everything that happened in that final book, but I am looking forward to officially meeting the characters and reading their stories.
